Keep proof of your giveaway draw
A saved record answers the question every giveaway eventually gets: how did you choose the winner?

Why keep a record
People ask how a winner was picked, sometimes weeks later. A record with the date, the rules and the result lets you answer in one message, and it shows that the draw followed the rules you announced.
What it contains
- The title, the draw date (UTC) and the post.
- The rules: one entry per person or several, whether replies count, minimum tags, keyword, excluded accounts and the date range.
- How many comments were captured and how many were eligible.
- The winners and the backups, each with their comment, comment ID and time, and a link to their profile (in the Excel and JSON files).
- The method: a uniform random draw without replacement.
Which format
- PDF: easy to share or print. The page is stored as a picture, so the text cannot be selected.
- Excel: a table you can sort and search, with profile links.
- JSON: for archives and scripts.
What a record does not prove
The record shows what was drawn from the comments CommentCrate could read. It does not prove that someone followed the account or that a tagged name is a real person, and comments that Instagram hid or filtered may not be in the list. Check those conditions yourself using the winner's profile.
Sharing and storing it
The record contains usernames and comments, which are other people's content. Share it with the participants or the winner if it helps, keep it only as long as you need it and store it safely. CommentCrate saves it on your computer and never uploads it. To create one, see the giveaway picker.
