How to export Instagram comments to CSV or Excel
Open the post, scan it and save its comments as a spreadsheet. Nothing is uploaded.
1. Scan the post or reel
Open the Instagram post or reel in your browser, click the CommentCrate icon and press Scan comments. The extension scrolls and expands the comments the way you would. Keep the tab in front until it says it is done: a hidden tab does not load comments.
2. Export the file
Press CSV or XLSX (JSON and PDF with Pro). The file is saved on your computer and opens in Excel, Google Sheets or Numbers. The full column list is in the export guide.
What the file contains
One row per comment: id, parent id (for replies), author, text, likes, the exact time of the comment, a hidden flag and the post address. Emoji and accented characters are kept intact.
Replies, giveaways and limits
- Replies are part of Pro and are saved with the parent link of each reply. The free plan exports up to 200 top-level comments.
- Instagram decides what it shows: hidden or filtered comments can be missing, and very large posts take several minutes.
- Running a giveaway? See the Instagram giveaway picker. For YouTube and TikTok: YouTube, TikTok.
